It is one thing to deploy OpenShift on AWS for net new or green field application workloads. Existing workloads however may have persitent storage for the application, existing audit data, database storage, even caching date. Not all data carries the same weight, it may be possible to recreate data such as caching related content, it may be possible to create keep existing data, generate new data and merge these if needed later. This is not uncommon for fincial solutions where data could be archived on an anual basis. For large, high velocity transactional systems or data sources with security and complaince considerations migration of the data may be a complext process or introduce risk. These considerations may result in application workloads not being migrated.
