. Use the Region selector in the navigation bar to choose the AWS Region where you want
to deploy SIOS Protection Suite on AWS.
. Create a https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ec2-key-pairs.html[key pair^] in your preferred Region.
. If necessary, https://console.aws.amazon.com/support/home#/case/create?issueType=service-limit-increase&limitType=service-code-[request a service limit increase^] for the Amazon EC2 r3.xlarge instance type. You might need to do this if you already have an existing deployment that uses this
instance type, and you think you might exceed the http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ec2-resource-limits.html[default limit^] with this reference deployment. 

==== Subscribe to the SIOS Protection Suite for Linux AMI

This Quick Start uses Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) from the http://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/[AWS Marketplace^]. Before you launch the Quick Start, you must subscribe to one of the SIOS Protection Suite AMIs.

Two licensing options are available: Bring Your Own License (BYOL), and pay as you go (PAYG).

**BYOL option**

. If you’re planning to use the BYOL licensing option, obtain a permanent license by http://us.sios.com/contact-us/[contacting SIOS directly^]. You can also sign up for a http://us.sios.com/SAN-SANless-clusters/free-trial-evaluation-san-sanless-clusters[free, 14-day, trial license^].
. Log in to the AWS Marketplace at https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace.
. Open the page for https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/prodview-2xnmiqhsf4b5o?qid=1627072541534&sr=0-5&ref_=srh_res_product_title[SIOS Protection Suite for Linux on RHEL 7.8 – BYOL^]. Choose *Continue*.

**PAYG option**

To use a PAYG basic license, choose `PAYG` for the `SIOS AMI license type` parameter during deployment.
