# EKS Distro Build Tooling Ops Tool
## Development
Currently all development should be done in the [pkg/server](https://github.com/aws/eks-distro-build-tooling/blob/main/tools/eksDistroBuildToolingOpsTools/pkg/server/) folder. When a new automation or chatops command is required, add a [request.go](https://github.com/aws/eks-distro-build-tooling/blob/main/tools/eksDistroBuildToolingOpsTools/pkg/server/backportRequest.go) file with the required logic for handling the request. Then depending on the [webhook event](https://docs.github.com/webhooks-and-events/webhooks/webhook-events-and-payloads?actionType=opened#issues) add the required lines to server.go.

## Releasing Updates
To release the changes made to the ops tool. Increment the [EKS_DISTRO_PROW_PLUGIN_RELEASE](https://github.com/aws/eks-distro-build-tooling/blob/main/tools/eksDistroBuildToolingOpsTools/EKS_DISTRO_PROW_PLUGIN_RELEASE) file, the [Helm-chart version](https://github.com/aws/eks-distro-build-tooling/blob/main/helm-charts/stable/prow-control-plane/Chart.yaml#L32), and add the correct [image tag](https://github.com/aws/eks-distro-build-tooling/blob/main/helm-charts/stable/prow-control-plane/values.yaml#L203). Once that is done open a CR in the CDK to bump the helm chart version after all post submits are finished.
